1.0 PREAMBLE

Artcélébre is a digital video CONTENT provider. The video sequences displayed on the www.artcelebre.com website are a catalog of the CONTENTS being offered for sale. In some cases the website CONTENT is reduced in length due to the storage limitation imposed by the website host. Visits to our in-house studio can be arranged by appointment where full length sequences are displayed with various screen and mounting arrangements.

 

2.0 LIFETIME CONSIDERATIONS

When considering buying electronic video art displays clients should bear in mind that all electronic equipment has a limited lifetime. This takes the form of two primary considerations, obsolescence and age related degradation.  Outright failure is also possible although with most modern electronic equipment this is increasingly rare and usually occurs early in use during the so called “burn-in” period. This issue can be mitigated (See SYSTEM INTEGRATION para. below). CONTENT life-time is however long lived and limited only by the selected storage media life-time. CONTENT storage life-times are currently the subject of on-going study but appear to be multi-generational in length and readily reproducible for archival preservation.  Importantly, Artcélébre retains archival “artists copies” of files (typically .jpeg and .mp4 format) of all installed CONTENT on in-house hard-drives as well on portable client specific memory devices.  In most cases this permits the easy re-installation of software when replacing displays or upgrading to more modern displays as they become available.

 

3.0 PRICING: SINGLE UNIT DIGITAL DISPLAYS

• Software provided is quantity 3 Artcélébre designed video sequences of choice repeating the sequences every 7 to 10 minutes depending on selection.

• System includes Samsung 55” QH55R  2 resolution 3840 by 2160 pix. (4K) signage display or equivalent

• Software provided is quantity 5 Artcélébre designed video sequences of choice repeating the sequences every 10 to 13 minutes depending on selection.

 

4.0 PRICING: ARTCÉLÉBRE CONTENT INSTALLATION

Clients can select GENERIC or UNIQUE installations.

• GENERIC (Limited to 10 Copies).  

Off-the-shelf Artcélébre video CONTENT displaying the full length versions of selected Website CONTENT. Prices are included in quoted prices for para.3.0 above.

• UNIQUE

The CONTENT is unique to the client. The Artcélébre videos supplied will retain the same form and structure as the GENERIC video sequence(s), but the CONTENT can be modified by changes to scale, color, texture, background, time frame among other effects to accommodate client preferences (where technically and artistically feasible).  In some cases this will be a relatively simple process, but in many cases the entire video must be re-rendered and composited as a new video file to complete the changes.  A copy of the unique CONTENT will be retained at Artcélébre, an artists copy, for archival purposes, or for the unlikely event of re-installation on the client’s system, but it will not be used for any other installation. Customization of this form requires artistic effort in re-programming, impacts computer processing schedules underway, and will incur additional minimum fees:

5.0 PRICING: LARGE FORMAT DISPLAYS 

Custom quotations are required

• Single digital display screens up to 98” diagonal can be supplied. The weight of large screens (not just size) is a factor in handling and transporting screens, as are site specific structural and mounting circumstances.

• Projection systems can also be supplied. Factors that influence the optimization of projected visual CONTENT, include space dimensions, characteristics of the display surface(s), day and night ambient light conditions, projector “throw”, resolution, and brightness, among many others. The hallmark of success is careful installation pre-planning.

6.0 CONTENT CHANGES

CONTENT scheduling can be reorganized, CONTENT can be deleted, added to from existing published videos, or supplemented with new artworks as they becomes available. Updates will be posted on www.artcelebre.com.  Existing client’s displays can be used, but subject to the limitation of the display internal memory.  Internal memory varies with display model but is typically 5 Gigabytes allowing approximately 30 minutes for a complete sequence cycle.  The process of making changes to CONTENT requires either the return of the display to Artcélébre, or alternatively accomplished by a visit to the client’s installation. Additional fees will be incurred for changes to existing CONTENT scheduling, adding new CONTENT, as well as for travel expenses and travel time.

7.0 MOUNTING HARDWARE

For single unit wall mounted installations, with screen weight less than 100 lbs. (screen sizes up to 55” diagonal), Premier Mounts Inc. Model AM100 is recommended where available. This is a very low profile, flush to the wall mount, permitting “swing away” access to data and power connections. Screens may be oriented either with longest dimension horizontal or longest dimension vertical for best viewing, depending on CONTENT.  Clients can be advised on suitable alternative mounting hardware for larger single units or for multiple display configurations or situation specific needs.  Clients can either purchase the mounting equipment themselves or include it in the Artcelebre system Purchase Order. Handling charges will apply. Clients are responsible for mounting the frame(s) in accordance with the manufactures mounting specifications, attaching the display unit(s) and for providing 110v ac power to the unit(s).  Site specific electrical installation should be completed by a licensed electrician.

 

8.0 PERFORMANCE

It should be expected that a display system once installed correctly and programmed for the clients operating needs, will function without the need for intervention.  Specific hours of operation and CONTENT display order of presentation can be user defined and preprogrammed into the system. For clients wishing to directly manage the performance of their system, manuals for each type of display can be found on the Samsung website accessible after creating an individual login ID:

9.0 SYSTEM INTEGRATION AND WARRANTY

• Before delivery

Newly purchased displays will be received at the Artcélébre in-house studio to install video CONTENT, to ensure proper system functionality and to customize the operating times as required by the client.  Each system will be “burned-in” for approximately 100 hours to mitigate premature failures. Failures that occur during this period will be referred for remedy to Samsung under their warrantee provisions and resolved before final delivery to the client. This unlikely event will delay the schedule for client installation.

 

• After delivery

The Samsung Electronics America Inc. repair warrantee for the display equipment is applicable. This is three years parts and labor for manufacturer’s defects.  Full details are supplied with the delivered equipment.  Damage due to improper physical installation or improper electrical installation is not covered and is the responsibility of the client.  Artcélébre accepts no liability for system failure that results from improper physical or electrical installation previously defined or for defects in the display equipment supplied. The client will be considered to have taken title to the physical hardware at the time of payment for the order, but every effort will be made by Artcélébre to ensure the installed hardware is in proper working order.

 

10.0 COPYRIGHT

The CONTENT provided, is copyright © Anthony Gerber 2018. All rights reserved. Videos, Images and associated Intellectual Property to be supplied to clients may not be reproduced or published elsewhere in whole or in part, or used in any manner for commercial purposes without express written permission from an authorized Artcélébre person.  CONTENT is supplied subject to its exclusive use on the single display for which the Artcélébre software and hardware system was originally purchased and installed.

 

11.0 SHIPPING

The display delivery time-frame is dependent on the supply and availability of the selected Samsung model (typically not more than 30 days for the units referenced herein).  Once hardware is received at Artcélébre, Artcélébre will require approximately 14 business days to preparing the system for onward shipment to the client. Following CONTENT installation and burn-in at Artcélébre each display unit will be delivered to the client by courier, Federal Express or UPS. Display equipment will be re-packed in the manufacturer’s original packaging as received.  Shipping and handling costs for delivery to the studio at Artcélébre, and then further to the client site will be added (estimated if necessary) to the initial invoice. Outstanding actual balances will be billed/refunded to the client.

 

12.0 QUOTATIONS

Artcélébre will provide the client a written quotation by email, valid for 30 days from the date of issue, for approval and for an authorized signature. Signature acceptance of the quotation will initiate Artcélébre order(s) processing and will also convey client understanding and agreement to the Terms and Conditions herein, a copy of which will be included as an integral part of the quotation document.  A signed acceptance will generate an immediate payment obligation for the full amount quoted.  Artcélébre will generate a paid invoice upon receipt of payment which will be sent to the client by email.

 

13.0 CANCELLATION

Cancellations instructions received from a client, after orders for hardware have been placed by Artcélébre in the client’s behalf, may qualify for a refund subject to the supplier(s) terms and conditions of sale.  Amounts returned to the client may be debited restocking fees, return transportation and insurance costs, and Artcélébre handling fees.  If orders are cancelled once hardware has been received at Artcélébre and CONTENT software installation is in process, restocking is not feasible. All monies will be forfeited.

 

14.0 PAYMENT (for non-custom or video wall installations)

Payment is due at the time the Quotation is accepted.  Payment by check to: The Woodside Group Inc. dba Artcelebre.
